Police Blotter: Aug. 24 to Aug. 30

Two commercial burglaries and a suspect arrested breaking into cars.

Yesterday evening, Montgomery County Police released a summary of major crimes for the week of Aug. 24 to Aug. 30. Here are some of the crimes reported in the Lincoln Sector of the 4th District for that week.

  • Robbery: On the corner Shorefield and Georgia Avenue, suspects approached the victim on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 12:30am, asking for food. They struck the victim, took cash, and ran south.
  • Assault: As a result of a traffic dispute, an aggravated assault occurred on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 1a.m near the 12300 block of Goodhill Road.
  • Commercial Burglaries: Cash was taken from the Foreign Cinema Kiosk in the mall overnight Wednesday, Aug. 25. On Monday, Aug. 30 at 9:14am, a break-in occurred at Tailor John, 11441 Georgia Avenue. Both the means of entry and the property taken at Tailor John are unknown.
  • Attempted Thefts from Vehicles: At 2:00 a.m., Aug. 24, an officer observed the suspect breaking into multiple vehicles in a county lot at 11219 Grandview Avenue and arrested the suspect.
  • Residential Burglaries: On Aug. 24, between 4am and 4pm, properties was taken from a residence on the 11400 block of Amherst Avenue. There was no sign of forced entry.
  • No forced entry and no property was taken on 10:00 p.m., Aug. 27, on the 3000 block of McComas Avenue.
