Police Blotter: Aug. 12 to Aug. 17

Commercial burglary at Brothers Restaurant; assault suspect arrested at the scene on Grandview Avenue

Yesterday evening, Montgomery County Police released a summary of major crimes for the week of Aug. 10 to Aug. 17. Here are some of the crimes reported in the Lincoln Sector of the 4th District for that week.

  • Burglary: A residential burglary took place in the 2100 block of Randolph Road, Silver Spring on Aug. 12 between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. No forced entry. Property was taken.
  • Assault: On Aug. 13 at 2 a.m., the victim and suspect were leaving an establishment in the 11200 block of Grandview Avenue, where it is likely that a brawl took place. The suspect cut the victim with a knife. The suspect, who is male, 27 and from Silver Spring, was arrested at the scene.
  • Robbery:  The incident, in the 12000 block of Bluhill Road, involved parties that were drinking together. At 10:30 p.m., two suspects allegedly beat the victim and took personal property.
  • Commercial Burglary: A break-in occurred at Brothers Restaurant, 11401 Amherst Avenue, on Aug. 14 at 2 a.m. The means of entry is unknown, and it is unknown whether anything was taken.
  • Burglary: A burglary took place in the 11000 block of Dayton Street on Aug. 15 at 4:05 a.m. There was no forced entry, but property was taken. The suspect is a Hispanic male, 18 to 22 years old, 5-foot-8 with a thin to medium build, bushy black hair and clean shaven. He was seen wearing a black T-shirt with red letters and khaki pants.
