Police Blotter: Feb. 13-22

Police reported a 6:30 a.m. armed robbery at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Windham Lane on Feb. 20.

 

The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from Feb. 13-22. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects the ones that occurred in or very near Wheaton. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Robberies

An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred at Shorefield Road and Shorefield Court, Wheaton, on Feb. 21 at 9:52 p.m. The suspects unsuccessfully attempted to assault the victim and remove property. Suspects: #1 – Hispanic male, 20, 5’5”, #2 – Black male, 35, 6”

An armed robbery occurred at Georgia Avenue and Windham Lane, Wheaton, on Feb. 20 at 6:30 a.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Residential burglaries

A residential burglary occurred in the 12100 block of Livingston Street, Silver Spring on Feb. 18 between 6:00 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 3300 block of Pendleton Drive, Silver Spring, on Feb. 15 at 12:07 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2300 block of Blueridge Avenue, Silver Spring, on Feb. 14 at 4:12 p.m., and is domestic related. Attempted burglary; nothing taken. Arrested: Male, 29, from Silver Spring.

A residential burglary occurred in the 11500 block of Bucknell Drive, Silver Spring, overnight from Feb. 17-18. Forced entry; property taken.

Aggravated assault

An aggravated assault occurred in the 11200 block of Triangle Lane, Wheaton, on Feb. 16 at 12:20 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and was arrested. Arrested: Male, 44, from Laurel.
