The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from Jan. 16-24. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects the ones that occurred in or very near Wheaton. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Commercial burglary
A commercial burglary occurred at Wheaton Mall, 11160 Veirs Mill Road, Wheaton, on Jan. 22 at 10:01 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
Arrested: male, 58, no fixed address.

Residential burglary
12500 block of Winexburg Manor Drive, Silver Spring on Jan. 17 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

12500 block of Winexburg Manor Drive, Silver Spring on Jan. 18 between 7:15 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Unforced entry. Property taken.

11800 block of 11802 Galt Avenue, Wheaton, on Jan. 20 between 12:15 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

Strong-arm robbery
A strong-arm robbery occurred at Newton Street and Livingston Street, Wheaton on Jan. 21 at 1:16 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the parking lot of Capital One bank, 11241 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, on Jan. 21 at 10:39 p.m. The suspect obtained property from the victim. Suspect: Hispanic male, 5’10”, 180 - 200 lbs.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 12800 block of Flack Street, Silver Spring on Jan. 23 at 7:40 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property. Arrested: female, 15, from Washington, DC; female, 18, from Washington, DC.

Aggravated assault
An aggravated assault occurred near the Suntrust Bank, 12345 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, on Jan. 21 at 3:25 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim. Arrested: Male, 33, from Wheaton.

An aggravated assault occurred at the Rumba Bar & Grill, 2311 Price Avenue, Wheaton, on Jan. 21 at 1:45 a.m. The suspects were intoxicated. The victims were the owner, the bouncer, and a customer. Arrested: male, 20, from Silver Spring.

Robbery
A robbery occurred in the 2700 block of University Boulevard W, Silver Spring on Jan. 23 at 9:10 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. Suspects: two black males, both masked, age 30, about 6’1 and 200-230 lbs; black female, 30, 5’2”, 90 – 100 lbs.
