Police Blotter: July 11-19

Several robberies and burglaries.

On Thursday, Montgomery County Police released the latest crime statistics for the week of July 11 to 19. In addition to the crimes described here, the Lincoln sectors of the 4th District recorded one additional burglary and two thefts from vehicles. 

Robbery:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 12000 block of Veirs Mill Road on July 13 at 10:21 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.
  • A suspect assaulted the victim and took property in the 12000 block of Connecticut Avenue on July 14 at 1 a.m. 
  • An armed robbery occurred on the pedestrian bridge over Veirs Mill Road on July 12 at 6:50 p.m. The suspect displayed a weapon and took property from the victim.  
  • An attempted armed robbery occurred behind the  on July 12 at 6 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and attempted to obtain property.  Arrested:  Adult male, age 22, from Wheaton.  

Burglary

  • Property was taken through forced entry in the 2200 block of Georgian Way on July 14 between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. 
  • A burglary occurred in the 10600 block of Amherst Avenue overnight between July 13 and July 14. There was no forced entry and nothing was taken.
  • A burglary occurred in the 1900 block of Blueridge Avenue overnight between July 13 and 14. Property was taken through forced entry.
