Police Blotter: July 4-12

Montgomery County Police released the most recent crime reports for the week of July 4 to July 12. In addition to crimes described here, the 4th District Lincoln sectors reported one additional robbery, a rape and five stolen vehicles.

Burglary:

• Property was taken without forced entry in the 12500 block of Winexburg Manor Drive, between July 8 and July 10.  

• A residential burglary occurred in the 12000 block of Milton Street on July 7 between 5:40 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Property taken by forced entry.

Assault:

• An aggravated assault occurred in the 3300 block of Hewitt Avenue on July 9 at 1:31 a.m. The incident was domestic in nature.

• A sexual assault is under investigation at the 12000 block of Veirs Mill Road on July 6. The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim.

Robbery:

• A strong-arm robbery occurred behind the Bank of America at 12125 Veirs Mill Road at 11:30 p.m. on July 8. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property. Suspect: black male, 20-22, 5’4” to 5’8”, with a thin build; Vehicle: green four door. 

• A strong-arm robbery occurred at the McDonald’s at 2741 University Boulevard West at 9:35 p.m. on July 9. The suspect was assaulted and had property taken. Suspects: black male, 15-19, 5’7 to 5’9”, red Chicago Bulls cap and black tank top; three black males. 

• An attempted armed robbery/aggravated assault occurred at the corner of Reedie Drive and Amherst Avenue on July 9 at 11:15 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and unsuccessfully attempted to remove property. Suspect: black male, 25-29, 5’9” to 6’1”.

Thefts from Vehicles:

• Three thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between July 6 and 7 in the following locations: 800 block of Hyde Road, the 600 block of Lamberton Drive and the 1100 block of North Belgrade Drive. One window was broken, two vehicles were unlocked.  Assorted loose items found inside were taken.
