Police Blotter: June 27 to July 5

Thefts from vehicle, several armed robberies.

Montgomery County Police released the latest crime reports for the week of June 27 through July 5 on Thursday. In addition to the crimes described here, the Lincoln sectors of the Fourth District had six thefts from vehicles.

Robbery: 

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred at Georgia Avenue and Ralph Road on June 29 at 9:30 p.m. The suspect, described as a white man around the ages of 32 and 33, 6', 210 pounds and bald, assaulted the victim and obtained property.
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11300 block of Monticello Avenue on July 4 at 11:55 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. 
  • An armed robbery occurred in the parking lot of Wheaton Mall, 11160 Veirs Mill Road, on June 28 at 4:00 a.m. The suspects displayed a weapon, assaulted the victim and obtained property.
  • On June 30, shortly after midnight, an attempted strong-arm robbery occurred on Georgia Avenue just south of Veirs Mill Road. The adult male victim was stopped and the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to remove property. 

Burglary:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Chakajian Carpet and Rugs, 12255 Veirs Mill Road overnight between June 27 and 28.  Property was taken by forced entry. Arrested: Two Males, age 18, from Wheaton.
  • Two residential burglaries occurred on June 28:
    • In the 10300 block of Tenbrook Drive between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Property was taken through forced entry.
    • In the 1000 block of Laredo Road between 7:00 and 10:30 p.m.  No forced entry, property taken.

Vehicle Thefts:

  • Four vehicle thefts in the area: The thefts occurred in the 13100 block of Fernedge Road (Honda, Yamaha motorcycles), the 12500 block of Georgia Avenue (BMW X5) and the 3100 block of Hewitt Avenue (Ford EPD). The first three occurred overnight July 1 to 2, and the last overnight from June 28 to 29.
