Police Blotter: Oct. 17-25

Crimes included thefts from vehicles, residential and commercial burglaries, aggravated assaults and a sexual assault.

The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from October 17 through October 25.

Thefts from vehicles

  • Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred overnight October 18. The apparently unlocked vehicles were located in the 14600 block of Notley Road (3), the 1800 block of Middlebridge Drive (3), and one each in the 1600 blocks of Hopefield Road and Colesberg Street, and in the 15200 block of Graff Place. In five of the break-ins, nothing was taken. In the remaining four break-ins, cash, a GPS, and a satellite radio were taken.

Aggravated assault

  • The suspect, who is known to the victim, assaulted the victim in the 11700 block of Hatcher Place, Silver Spring, on October 18 at 2:39 p.m. Arrested: female, 53, from Silver Spring.
  • The victim was assaulted on the 10800 block of Amherst Avenue, Silver Spring on October 20 at 9:00 p.m. No property was taken.

Sexual assault

  • The Dollar Store, 12029 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring on October 17 at 3:45 p.m. Suspect: white male, 30-40, 6’, 180 lbs., mustache and beard, black crew cut.

Residential burglaries

  • 3700 block of Astoria Road, Kensington, on October 22 between 7:25 a.m. and 6:38 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
  • 11700 block of Kingtree Street, Silver Spring, on October 25 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.
  • 3100 block of Parker Avenue, Silver Spring on October 24 between 7:00 a.m. and 6:56 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

  • American Beauty Academy, 11006 Veirs Mill Road, Silver Spring overnight on October 21. Forced entry, property taken.
