Police Arrest One For Disorderly Conduct After Party

Multiple police cars on scene.

Update, Apr. 20: Police showed up to Irene's Pupusas III/Sky Bar at 10300 Georgia Avenue, at approximately 8:30 p.m. yesterday evening as part of an officer-initiated call. 40 units from the 3rd and 4th district responded.

According to public information officer Rebecca Innocenti, said police were responding "to a large crowd" at the location for an event, and were trying to disperse it. An officer at the scene said the police had broken up a fight. One person was arrested for disorderly contact, Innocenti said.

Ruth Melgar, the owner of Irene's, said last night's event was a "teenage party", the first time Irene's had held such an event. A "Happy Birthday" banner is still hanging from the ceiling, but Melgar said it wasn't a birthday party.
