Update: Police Investigating Kidnapping and Robbery at Giant

Victim was forced to make withdrawals from nearby ATMs.

Update, 10:50 p.m.: Montgomery County Police are investigating the kidnapping and robbery of a 75-year-old man at  at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

He told police he was approached in the store's parking lot by a man who brandished a sharp object and forced him to get into the passenger seat of his own car, police said. The assailant then drove him to ATMs in the area and forced him to withdraw cash and hand it over. After taking the money, the suspect fled to a Metro station, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 35 and 45, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds.

Original post, 8:13 p.m.: Montgomery County Police are investigating a possible abduction from the  at 3403 University Blvd. on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police dispatch, the victim called police after the abduction and said the suspect forced him to drive around to nearby ATMs and withdraw money.

At this time no other details are available, nor is a description of the suspect. We'll keep you posted as more facts come to light.
