Police Release Surveillance Photo of Suspects in 13 Burglaries

The suspects were caught on camera while using a credit card that belonged to the owner of a home burglarized on Jan. 27.

Two burglary suspects, caught on surveillance video after a Jan. 27 burglary north of Glenmont, may be responsible for as many as 13 burglaries since then between the Georgia Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue corridors, according to Montgomery County Police.

Police said the burglars appear to target people of Asian and Indian descent and they steal jewelry.

On Jan. 27 at approximately 12:18 p.m., 4th District officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Snowdrop Lane in Silver Spring after a report of a burglary that occurred earlier.

The homeowner returned home and discovered that someone had broken into the home. Police discovered the burglar had entered the home through an unlocked window. Among the stolen items was a credit card, according to police.

Detectives obtained video surveillance of a male and female suspect using this credit card at a Silver Spring business shortly after the burglary. The black male, who has short hair, is seen wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans and pushing a baby stroller. The black female, who has red hair, is wearing a black-and-white striped jacket.

Police are releasing photos and video surveillance of the suspects and are asking that anyone who recognizes these suspects or has information about this burglary call the 4th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5530. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
