Update: Police Charge Suspects, Identify Victim in Aspen Hill Shooting

Although the suspects haven't been charged for the homicide, they are still in police custody.

Update, March 8, 6:11 p.m.: Montgomery County Police identified the male victim in Wednesday's fatal shooting in Aspen Hill.

Hugo Yupe, 21, of the 12000 block of Veirs Mill Road in Rockville, was killed for an unknown reason, while he was with acquaintances in a home on Superior Court Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Update, March 8, 4:56 p.m.: Montgomery County Police charged two suspects for the March 7 shooting in Aspen Hill.

Christopher Edwards, age 20, of Rockville was charged with one count of second degree murder and one count of reckless endangerment, and is being held without bond. While, 19-year-old Andrew Ramos, of an unknown address, was charged with one count of reckless endangerment and is being held on a $20,000 bond.

An investigation by Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) found that Edwards, Ramos and the victim were at a residence in the 13200 block of Superior Street at the time of the shooting. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, but police said Edwards called 911 while Ramos left the scene.

MCPD is asking that anyone with information regarding this incident contact the Homicide/Sex section at 240-773-5070.

Update, March 7, 8:57 p.m.: Montgomery County Police arrested two suspects for the Wednesday afternoon shooting in Aspen Hill.

According to reports, police and county fire/EMS responded to a home on the 13200 block of Superior Court around 3:20 p.m. and found one young male was fatally shot.

Police said three young men were in the residence when a shot was fired. Although the second man remained on scene with the victim, the third man fled.

At this time police are not releasing the name of the victim nor the names of the suspects.

Original Post, March 7, 4 p.m.: Montgomery County Police are reporting to the scene of a possible fatal shooting on the 13200 block of Superior Court in Aspen Hill.

According to a police, they can confirm a fatality, but not that there was a shooting.
