Police Scrutinize Report of Sword Stabbing

Police said that the reported stabbing turned out to be a minor cut to the hand.

Montgomery County police are casting doubt on a report of a man stabbed in the hand by a sword Monday night.

WJLA reported on Jan. 30 that Montgomery County police had responded to an 8 p.m. call from the 11800 block of Selfridge Road.

But Officer Angela Cruz told Patch Wednesday morning that police are “still trying to determine the credibility” of the story. She said that when police responded to the dispute between two roommates at the address, the reported stabbing turned out to be a minor cut to the hand.

“It wasn’t what was told to call-takers,” Cruz said.
