Resident Burglary Case from April Matches Man Already in Prison

Blood left at scene.

Montgomery County Police announced today that they had closed a residential burglary case from April just south of the Beltway. A DNA match was made between blood left at the scene and a suspect already held in prison on unrelated charges.

Police found the blood of Jerasimos Ray Blanton, a 23-year-old who lives on the 12300 block of Overpond Way in Potomac, at the scene of an April 12 burglary on the 1900 block of Kermit Road in Silver Spring.

Blanton cut himself and left blood when he broke into the Silver Spring residence and stole electronics.

Blanton is currently being held in jail in Clarksburg, MD. Montgomery County Police have charged him with first-degree burglary, one count of theft over $1,000 and one count of malicious destruction of property under $500 for the Kermit Road burglary.
