Suspect for 7-Eleven Armed Robbery Arrested

The armed robbery occurred at a Wheaton 7-Eleven in the early morning on Sept. 8.

Montgomery County police announced they have arrested Bernard Boyd, 36, of Laurel, in connection with the Sept. 8 armed robbery of a 7-Eleven at 11406 Georgia Avenue.

Boyd is in the custody of the Prince George's County Correctional Center on unrelated charges, police said.

According to a police investigation of the robbery, no customers were in the store at the time of the robbery, at approximately 1:50 a.m. A male suspect entered the 7-Eleven, showed a handgun to the two employees and ordered them to the floor. Police said he then forced the employees to open the register and put cash in a plastic bag, before fleeing the store with the money.

Police have not yet released a photograph of Boyd.
