Wheaton Crime: Armed Assault in Aspen Hill Home

The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from July 30 to Aug. 7. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or very near Wheaton.

Armed Assault in Aspen Hill Home

A residential burglary/assault occurred in the 4600 block of Aspen Hill Road, Aspen Hill, on Aug. 3 at 11:42 p.m.  The suspect, who is known to the victim, entered the house without permission.  She entered the victim’s room where she pulled a gun from her purse and stated that she was going to shoot the victim in the head.  The victim was able to grab the gun from the suspect’s hand and hand it off to an uninvolved resident of the house.

Arrested: female, 43, from Wheaton. 

Arrested: Fairland Man with Handgun in Pocket

A weapons violation occurred at Georgia Avenue and Randolph Road, Glenmont, on Aug. 3 at 8:20 p.m.  The suspect was observed with a gun protruding from his pocket. The suspect was located and did have a handgun in his pocket. The suspect was looking for a Hispanic male with whom he'd had a confrontation.

Arrested: male, 47, from Fairland. 

Armed Robbery

An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 11300 block of Georgia Avenue, Wheaton, on Aug.t 1, at 3:00 a.m.  The suspect approached the victim who was on foot, lunged at the victim with a knife and demanded his property. The victim jumped back and told the suspect the police were close by. The victim found Montgomery County Police and the suspect was quickly apprehended.

Arrested: male, 23, from Wheaton. 

Robbery at Wheaton Metro

A robbery occurred at the Wheaton Metro, Wheaton, on Aug. 8 at 1:20 a.m. Arrests were made but no information on the event or suspect description was available.
