Wheaton Crime: Armed Robbery in Wheaton Mall Parking Garage

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from Oct. 8-16. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton. 

An armed robbery occurred at Westfield Wheaton in the lower level of the parking garage on Oct. 14 at 1:15 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

A residential burglary occurred in the 12000 block of Veirs Mill Road, Silver Spring, on Oct. 8 between 9 a.m. and 7:44 p.m. Forced entry; nothing taken.

An aggravated assault occurred at Georgia Avenue and University Boulevard, Wheaton, on Oct. 11 at 10:55 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon.   

Suspect: White male, 30-35, 6’ - 6’2, 170-190 lbs, short blond hair, wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans.

Several thefts from vehicles occurred overnight from Oct. 14-15 at these locations:  

- 2000 block of Evans Parkway (forced entry, tools taken)

- 10500 block of Calumet Drive (unlocked, cash taken)

- 10200 block of Tenbrook Drive (unlocked, phone charger taken)
