Wheaton Crime Report: Robbery at Kennedy High School

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from April 8-16. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton and Glenmont.

 

A strong-arm robbery occurred at John F. Kennedy High School, 1901 Randolph Road, Silver Spring, on Tuesday, April 9, at 7:40 a.m.  The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim.

Arrested: Male, 16, from Silver Spring. 

An aggravated assault occurred on Tuesday, April 16, at 8:30 p.m. at Popeye’s, 12102 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton-Glenmont.  The suspect assaulted the victim.  No further information is available at this time.

A residential burglary occurred in the 12100 block of Remington Drive, Silver Spring, on Friday, April 12, between 11:30 a.m. and 3:51 p.m.  Forced entry; nothing taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred overnight from Tuesday, April 9, to Wednesday, April 10, in the 3000 block of Kramer Street and in the 12000 block of Claridge Road, both in Silver Spring.  In the both events, entry was forced and power tools were taken.  Also, overnight from Wednesday, April 10, to Thursday, April 11, a vehicle in the 11300 block of Newport Mill Road, Silver Spring, was broken into by force and power tools were also taken.  

An armed robbery occurred at Prichard Road and Amherst Avenue, Wheaton-Glenmont, on Sunday, April 14, at 2:59 p.m.  The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 2200 block of Reedie Drive, Wheaton-Glenmont, on Monday, April 15, at 2:50 p.m.  The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and unsuccessfully attempted to remove property. 

An aggravated assault occurred outside Passions Bar at Elkin Street and Price Avenue, Wheaton-Glenmont, on Thursday, April 11, at 10:30 p.m.  The suspect threatened three victims with a weapon and was arrested.

Arrested: Male, 25. 

A residential burglary occurred in the 11400 block of Sherrie Lane, Silver Spring, on Friday, April 13, at 5 p.m.  Unforced entry; property taken.  

A residential burglary occurred in the 11500 block of Nairn Farmhouse Court, Silver Spring, between Sunday, April 7, and Sunday, April 14.  Unforced entry; nothing taken.
