Wheaton Crime: Vehicle Thefts in Kemp Mill

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from Dec. 24 - Jan. 2. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton. 

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the Kemp Mill area of Silver Spring during the week.  Three vehicles were entered with no signs of force, searched and items of value taken (GPS, iPod, iPad, cell phone).  A fourth vehicle in the 400 block of Stonington Road had forced entry.  Affected streets included the following: the 11200 block of Healy Street, 11400 block of Gilsan Street, 11500 block of Lovejoy Street and the 500 block of Hillsboro Drive.

Two vehicle thefts also occurred in the Kemp Mill area.  The incidents occurred in the 500 block of Hillsboro Drive and in the 11500 block of Lovejoy Street.

commercial robbery occurred on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 10:50 a.m. at Tienda Sula Musica, 11409 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

      Suspect: black male, 30-35, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot, 240-260 lbs.

residential burglary occurred on Friday, Dec. 28 in the 2800 block of Kingswell Drive, Silver Spring.  Unknown means of entry. Unknown whether anything was taken.

An indecent exposure incident occurred outside the IHOP, 2526 University Blvd. West, Wheaton, on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 12:16 a.m.  

An aggravated assault occurred on Monday, Dec. 31, at 9:06 p.m. in the 12000 block of Centerhill Street, Silver Spring.  The suspect is known to the victim. 

      Arrested: Male, 45, from Silver Spring.
