Down-County Open House on Park, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan Update

Park, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan Update
M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and the Montgomery County Recreation Department are seeking public input on the 2012 Park, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan Update.

The purpose of the 2012 PROS Plan Update is to estimate the future needs for park and recreation facilities and develop specific service delivery strategies. This effort will build on the results of the 2011 Vision 2030 Strategic Plan. Throughout the Vision 2030 planning process, we clearly heard about how important parks and recreation are to the high quality of life in Montgomery County.

Two meetings will be held using an Open House format. This format will allow attendees to circulate among various stations detailing future needs and service delivery options for:
• Recreation and Aquatic Centers
• Natural Areas
• Trails
• Traditional Park Facilities e.g., athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, picnic shelters, and ice rinks
• Facilities Associated with Emerging Trends e.g., cricket, dog parks, community gardens, skateboard facilities, and volley ball
