Five Local Graduates Honored with Public Service Award

Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-8th District) awarded seniors from high schools within his district.

Five Wheaton-area seniors have worked hard to contribute to their community, and now have been recognized for it, right after graduation.

The 2011 Van Hollen Public Service Award for outstanding community service is presented to one graduating high school student at participating schools in Van Hollen’s district. The award recognizes contributions to community or school.

The Eighth Congressional District of Maryland includes most of Montgomery County and parts of Silver Spring and Wheaton.
