Leggett Appoints New Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board Member

The Montgomery County Council confirmed Nedgie Metellus on March 14.

Nedgie Metellus will replace Stefan Lawson as a representative of Silver Spring on the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board. The Montgomery County Council confirmed County Executive Isiah Leggett’s appointment of Metellus on March 14.

Lawson resigned in December 2011.

The board’s purpose is to “provide advice to the Director of the Mid-County Center on area priorities and on ways to tailor services in the center to residents of the region,” according to the county council document. The board also “works to identify and understand community issues and advises the County Executive and County Council on the appropriate role for government to assume in resolving these issues.”

Fifteen mid-county residents or business owners sit on the board for three-year, uncompensated terms. MCCAB meets the third Tuesday of every month in the from 7-9 p.m.
