Montgomery County Council Seeks New Member for Board of Appeals
Deadline for application is Dec. 5.
The Montgomery County Council is looking for applicants to fill a partial term on the Montgomery County Board of Appeals.
The Board of Appeals holds all-day weekly meetings each Wednesday and work sessions every other week, deciding issues such as: Applications for special exceptions; appeals from decisions made by other Montgomery County government agencies and variance requests from Zoning Ordinance development standards. Board members work approximately 15-25 hours per week, and are compensated $14,510 annually (except the chair, who receives $20,508.)

While county law states that no more than three members of the same political party can serve on the board, the current make-up (one Republican, two Democrats and one who declined to affiliate) will allow for a candidate from any political party.
The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Applications must include a letter expressing interest, plus a resume with professional and civic experience.
