Notice: Mid-County Hosts First CIP Budget Forum

What would you like to see in the next capital improvements program? Speak out at the July 11 forum.

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is holding a series of forums about the county's next capital improvements program budget. The first forum will be held on Thursday, July 11, at the Mid-County Community Recreation Center in Silver Spring.

The next CIP, for fiscal years 2015 to 2020, will set planning priorities for roads, public schools, water and sewer lines, parks, libraries, health and recreation facilities, and other public buildings.

>> What would you like to see in the county's next CIP? How should money be distributed in the budget? Tell us in the comments.

The current CIP includes the costs for major construction projects such as the Wheaton library and community recreation center renovation, the Wheaton Rescue Squad relocation and the county's redevelopment plans for Wheaton's downtown core.

All of the forums will begin with an informal open house at 6:30 p.m., followed by a formal presentation and question-and-answer session from 7 to 8 p.m. The full schedule is listed below:
