Townhouse Development to be Considered at Next Planning Board

Townhouse community will border the mall ring road.

The preliminary site plan for 25 townhouses and one single-family home development immediately to the west of Westfield Wheaton will go to the Planning Board on Thursday.

Kensington Heights 2, LLC is the applicant, and they have brought the site plan to the Board after agreeing to binding elements to the development in 2009 when a zoning change was approved. The binding elements include limiting the number of townhouses per row, and the creation of the single-family home closest to the existing neighborhood behind the lot.

The site is currently partially forested. The development would retain almost a half-acre of the existing forest while cutting back a significant portion, but reforest 0.18 acres.
