Update, 12 p.m., Tuesday:

Wheaton polling places see heavy morning turnout and long lines, and election judges tell Patch that the Montgomery County Board of Elections advised them to expect an 80-85 percent voter turnout.

Polls open at 7 a.m. for Tuesday's general election, but the Board of Elections recommends that voters avoid peak hours by going to their polling place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
