Walking for Redevelopment in Wheaton

County officials took to the streets in Wheaton Saturday.

Montgomery County officials issued a request for proposals for Wheaton redevelopment on Monday, moving forward with the plan approved by the County Council in May.

This came two days after a walking tour of Wheaton attended by residents and county officials, including County Executive Isiah Leggett (D) and County Council President Nancy Navarro (D-Dist. 4) of Silver Spring, The Gazette reported.

The walking tour was organized by the Coalition for Smarter Growth and the Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee.
