Weast Recommends Crossway Become First Charter School in Montgomery County

Board of Education will vote on both applications on July 7.

After last year's application , Crossway Community Inc.'s  Community Montessori School is getting another chance at becoming the first charter school in Montgomery County.

Superintendent Jerry Weast, who's term ends on June 30, recommended approving Community Montessori's 2011 application to the Board of Education.

In a press release, Weast cited "significant upgrades" from the 2010 application and said while he and the panel assembled to review the applications still had "some concerns of significant weight", he believed those concerns could be overcome.
