Agenda: More Money for School Security Systems

The Montgomery County Council meets most Tuesdays in Rockville.

By Whitney Teal

Community members will have the chance to weigh in on a proposal to spend nearly $6 million over the next five years to increase security at Montgomery County elementary schools.

The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing during a regularly-scheduled meeting Tuesday. The hearing will focus on whether the council should include money for adding school security systems that require visitors to be “buzzed” in the county’s six-year Capital Improvements Program budget.
