Tree Lover Taining

The Montgomery Parks' Urban Tree Stewards Program is seeking volunteers to help monitor trees on 34,000 acres of parkland. We currently have 25 trained stewards, but we need many more.As an Urban Tree Steward you will be trained to assess the health of trees within an assigned area at least four times a year and report back to Forestry staff on the locations of damaged and, sick or questionable trees. The flagged trees will be examined by an urban forester or tree crew supervisor to determine actions needed. Training dates for the next Montgomery Parks Tree Stewards class are;Wed., Sept. 14, 7-9pm, Brookside Gardens Visitor Center AuditoriumWed., Sept. 21, 6-9 pm, Brookside Gardens Visitor Center AuditoriumSat., Sept. 24, 8-11 am. Field trip to a Montgomery Park (to be determined)Volunteers must complete all training sessions.
