The new year has just started, but you already may be wondering about spring break.

Luckily, Montgomery County Public Schools has released its 2012-2013 school calendar, allowing students and parents to mark the dates in calendars and start counting down to the next vacation day.

  • Martin L. King, Jr. Day, Jan. 21—MCPS offices and schools are closed.
  • Presidents' Day, Feb. 22—MCPS offices and schools are closed.
  • Spring Break, March 25-28—No school for students and teachers.
  • Easter, March 29-April 1—MCPS offices and schools are closed.
  • Memorial Day, May 27—MCPS offices and schools are closed.
  • Last Day of School, June 14

Note: Several professional days for teachers have been attached to holiday breaks:

  • Jan. 22—No school for students.
  • April 2—No school for students.
