Thomas Edison High School Student Trevor Sitkoff Wins Silver Medal at National Competition

Sitkoff one of three Edison students that participated in the SkillsUSA Conference.

Over the summer, many students look to spend time with friends and family – catching up on all of the leisure activities that they don’t have time for during the school year.

This past summer, however, three students from went against the grain, participating in SkillsUSA’s 47th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference, held June 19-24 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Senior Trevor Sitkoff, who is in Edison’s Print Technologies and Digital Graphics program, earned a second place silver medal in the conference’s T-Shirt Design Competition.

“The National SkillsUSA conference was an amazing experience,” said Sitkoff. “I’ve never been around people with such high spirits and enthusiasm before. The competition is friendly, and everyone is glad to be there.

Two other Edison students participated in the six day event. Thomas Shea, a senior in Edison’s Network Operations Program competed in the Computer Programming competition, while 2011 Edison graduate Olivia Dunn competed in the employment application process following her two years in the school’s Interior Design program.
