Screen on the Green: Summer Outdoor Film Fests

Grab a blanket, a picnic and enjoy the show.

Summer outdoor movie series abound in Washington, D.C., and the Screen on the Green 2012 picks were recently announced.

The four Screen on the Green films will be shown Monday, July 16, through Monday, August 6. Three of the films will appear on Mondays, though one will run on a Wednesday evening because of the National Mall rehabilitation.

Monday, July 16: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Wednesday, July 25: It Happened One Night *Note weekday change!*
Monday, July 30: From Here to Eternity
Monday, August 6: Psycho

The films are shown on a 20-foot by 40-foot screen on the National Mall between 7th and 12th Streets NW. Films are only cancelled if there is lightening. The annual event is hosted by Friends of Screen on the Green, in collaboration with festival sponsors HBO and Comcast.
