·      Description:  Baltimore County resident Michele “Wojo” Wojciechowski is starring in the comedy/improv show called “Stand Up and Laugh”.

Washington Gardener Magazine's 6th Annual Tomato Tasting

·      Where:  Silver Spring FreshFarm Market in Downtown Silver Spring

·      When:  Saturday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m.

·      Description:  It’s ‘Big Boy’ vs. ‘Mortgage Lifter,’ hybrid vs. heirloom, the tomato wars have just begun. Everyone is sure that their tomato pick is the tastiest. Join Washington Gardener Magazine at the FreshFarm Market in downtown Silver Spring for a tomato tasting.

End Of Summer BBQ With Great Shoals Winery

·      Where:  Heyser Farms. 14526 New Hampshire Ave. Silver Spring

·      When:  Saturday, Aug. 24, 11 a.m.

·      Description:  Great Shoals Winery and Heyser Farms will be hosting an End Of Sumer BBQ.  Captain Cook's Bayside will be selling authentic pulled pork, BBQ chicken and more. 

·      Cost:  Free

 

Back to School Event

·      Where:  111 Geneva Avenue Silver Spring

·      When:  Saturday, Aug. 24, 3 p.m.

·      Description:  The Sports Ministry will be having aback to school event for the youth ages 2-14.  Free haircuts, games, food and more.

·      Cost:  Please bring a new school item as a donation when you come.

 

Beer Tasting

·      Where:  Fenwick Beer and Wine

·      When:  Saturday, Aug. 24, 4 p.m.

·      Description:  DC Brau beer tasting.

·      Cost:  Free

Diva and Dude Superhero Night and Silent Auction

·      Where:  Fleet Feet Sports, Gaithersburg 255 Kentlands Blvd. Gaithersburg

·      When:  Friday, Aug. 23, 7:30 p.m.

·      Description:  Prizes for best dressed male and female superheroes, silent auctions and more.  100% of the proceeds benefit the Kentlands Community Foundation. As a thank you for supporting the Kentlands Community Foundation, each superhero in attendance will receive an awesome goodie-filled gift bag worth $70.

·      Cost:  $20

Macanudo Golf Challenge

·      Where:  Davidus Cigars 25 Olney Sandy Spring Rd, Ashton

·      When:  Friday, Aug. 23, 4 p.m.

·      Description:  Macanudo Cigars is sponsoring a Golf Challenge featuring an indoor golf simulator. Visit website for more details.

·      Cost:  Purchase any 20 ct. box or more of Macanudo cigars and be automatically eligible to compete.  Purchase 5 Mancanudo Cigars and win a chance to be entered. (5 winners per store).
