Summer Camps Canceled, No Decision on 4th of July Festivities

Facilities such as pools and libraries with power will be open during normal business hours. A decision has not yet been made regarding July 4 celebrations.

County-sponsored recreational activities are canceled for Monday and Tuesday as widespread power outages continue following Friday's storm. The Montgomery County Department of Recreation has canceled all scheduled events, including summer camp programs through Tuesday. County facilities such as pools and libraries with power will be open during scheduled operating hours, but customers are encouraged to call ahead before visiting. All community activities scheduled at the Montgomery County Public Schools building are also canceled through Tuesday because nearly 140 schools are still without power. The county has not yet made a decision on 4th of July festivities such as fireworks and parades. An announcement should come Tuesday.
