Who knew Vice President Joe Biden was such a Costco fan? He went on a shopping spree Thursday at a Costco in DC.
Although no one knows for sure when the Wheaton Costco will open its doors, perhaps one of its first customers could be the U.S. vice president. Joe Biden went on a shopping spree at a Costco in Northeast DC Thursday morning during the store's grand opening, The Huffington Post reported. His haul reportedly included children's books, fire logs, a 32-inch Panasonic TV and an apple pie. Want to see the funny face he made at the cash register? Check out the photos at The Huffington Post website. What does Maryland think?
Update, 10:50 p.m.: Vice President Joe Biden's use of "malarkey" or his famous smirk (@BidenSmirk) may have taken some of the attention during Thursday night's vice presidential debate, but many called the showdown between Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan a substantive exchange on policy. Several news outlets called Biden's performance "dominant" in what was a highly anticipated face-off between two experienced Washington politicians out to defend their running mates' policies. Some of the credit for the effective give and take went to moderator Martha Raddatz, an ABC News correspondent who asked tough questions and attempted to stick to time limits. Raddatz asked the candidates about their stances on the economy, unemployment, healthcare and …

Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-MD, will play the role of GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan in practice verbal sparring with Vice President Joe Biden, who will face Ryan in a televised debate before the November election, two television networks reported late Thursday. Van Hollen, who represents Maryland's 8th District, routinely confronts Ryan in exchanges on Capitol Hill where Van Hollen is the ranking member of the House Budget Committee, which Ryan chairs. The two often clash over the same issues that will likely come up in the one televised debate between Biden and Ryan, CBS News and ABC News reported. Van Hollen may know Ryan's controversial federal financial plan better than anyone, ABC reported. "There's no place where Ryan …

Is this just the usual partisan politics or have we reached a new level of mud-slinging?
Vice President Joe Biden went head to head with GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney over Medicare and the economy. "What's gutsy about giving millionaires another tax break? What's gutsy about gutting Medicare, Medicaid, education?" Biden asked voters in Durham, NC, this week, according to UPI.com. Romney and his new running mate, Paul Ryan, were just as quick to criticize the president and his policies. UPI.com reported that Ryan told a crowd at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines to ask Obama where the jobs are. In a speech to Danville, VA, voters on Tuesday, The Washington Post reports Biden said that Romney's ideas to regulate the financial industry will "put y'all back in chains." The comment, which was made before a racially …
