This one doesn't seem to fit the pattern of the others. This is a signalized intersection, and the crosswalk is marked on three sides. Nobody mentioned if the pedestrian was crossing with the signal or against it.   more ›

I observed a male pedestrian get nailed on Georgia Avenue one evening. It was dark and I was in the right lane and the truck in the middle lane hit him and killed him. I never observed the pedestrian even though he had darted from my side of the road. He was …   more ›

Firstly, this particular accident was not caused by a pedestrian disobeying signs or lights. This happened at an unmarked crosswalk where motorists are REQUIRED to yield to pedestrians. Blaming the victim by implying that he was as much to blame as the driver that hit him is not helpful. Also, putting the issue in the context of 'winning' and losing is offensive. The road is not a sports arena …   more ›
