Montgomery County school officials discussed school safety after hearing about a school shooting 55 miles north in Perry Hall.
Montgomery County school officials said Monday they were taking security seriously on the first day of school and in the wake of a shooting at a high school in Perry Hall, MD, that was visited less than a week ago by Education Secretary Arne Duncan. According to Perry Hall Patch, officials say a 15-year-old student shot a 17-year-old student in the back at Perry Hall High School on the first day of school.
