The boy's varsity lacrosse teams from Wheaton High School and Northwood High School qualified for the state tournament.
When the Maryland boy's and girl's state lacrosse tournaments get underway Wednesday, Wheaton High School and Northwood High School will be in the mix. Boy's Bracket Wheaton is seeded No. 8 in the 3A/2A West region and will face No. 9 Northwood in the first round. The winner will play against No. 1 Middletown High School in the second round. Reconstruction work on the school begins this summer
On Thursday, the girls and boys varsity lacrosse teams at Wheaton High School will play the final games of the school year in the Richard Riddle Stadium before reconstruction work on the school begins this summer, according to Chris Culkin, Wheaton's athletic booster club president. Both games are against Magruder High School; the girls game begins at 5:15 p.m., the boys game at 7 p.m. Read more about the Richard Riddle Stadium in Chris Culkin's blog post on Patch about the final football game played there last fall.

The Wheaton Drama Club will perform Disney's Aladdin this weekend, beginning Thursday night.
It's that time of year again, when local high schools perform their spring musicals. The Wheaton Drama Club at Wheaton High School presents Disney's Aladdin on April 18, 19 and 20. The show starts at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are available at the door: $7 for adults, $5 for students. Other local high schools are also putting on shows this weekend:

Two Wheaton high school seniors were among 21 from Montgomery County to win scholarship money from Comcast.
Two Wheaton high school seniors were among 21 from Montgomery County to win $1,000 scholarships from Comcast. Elena Robles of Wheaton High School and Luis Gomez of Northwood High School were recognized for their leadership skills, academic achievement and commitment to community service as part of Comcast's Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program, the company announced Wednesday. “The very best investment we can make as Marylanders is to help our students reach their academic objectives,” Maryland Gov.
