This week, the closure of a popular Bethesda steakhouse takes center plate: One Meat: Unsuccessful rental negotiations caused Divino Lounge—an Argentinian steakhouse in Bethesda—to close its doors for good, Bethesda Patch reported. After 10 years, the popular restaurant has vacated its Wisconsin Avenue location, and a "for rent" sign hangs above the space. Divino's owners had this to say about the closure on the restaurant's website. This week, a new restaurant in Bethesda takes center plate: One Meat: 100 Montaditos, an international restaurant chain, will open in the Bethesda space previously occupied by Green Papaya, Bethesda Magazine reported. Inspired by typical Spanish taverns, 100 Montaditos serves small sandwiches on crunchy rolls with fillings including Serrano ham and tomatoes, grilled chicken and Iberico cheese, and shrimp with guacamole, the magazine added. Where do Patch readers in the area go to celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
We asked Patch readers across the region to tell us about their favorite places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Here’s a look at some of the winners: In the poll that ran on Bethesda, Chevy Chase, North Potomac-Darnestown and Potomac Patches, a corner cupcake shop in Friendship Heights, Chevy Chase, beat out the bars as readers' favorite place to honor the holiday. The spring green-frosted, shamrock-topped cupcakes at Frosting, A Cupcakery, received 37 percent of the vote. Ri Ra Irish Pub in Bethesda came in second, with 22 percent of the vote.
