Jihan Asher is a writer based in Maryland. The Kingston, Jamaica native moved to Wheaton in late 1997 and has resided here ever since. After attending Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Wheaton, she graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in History and notation in Writing Arts from the Jimenez-Porter Writers' House.

She is currently working as a full time AmeriCorps member and evening ESOL teacher at CASA de Maryland.
