This is how "getting paid to support affordable housing works" from my experiences in the late 90's
Activist-Hi Bank of the World, we think you should give a bunch of money to ACORN
Bank of the World, why?
Activist-because otherwise we will call you a bunch of big meanie racists, hold protests in front of your banks and then have our pet congressmen write bad laws to force you to loan money to people who cant repay it
Bank of the World-ok, fine we will support your organization
Activist--oops, sorry we lied, we still got congress to pass the law so give us even more money to council all the delinquent borrowers you have now

So you mean you were a willing participant in the sub-prime housing mess which has brought so many forclosures and so much blight to Wheaton?
Because loaning money to low income people with questionable documentation is a fine fine way to ensure they will repay.
Remind me to thank you personally for the lovely abandoned houses on my block next time I see you

Ah, but what do you do? Or do you just go around making threats and attempting to impose your minority opinion onto people with a megaphone and a half-baked agenda?
As Costco Gas Man asks, how many low income people do you sponsor in your house?

ReplySo after killing the developer option and scuttling 3 years of BF Saul work last year, Navarro is ready to bring in a developer?
Anybody want to follow the trail of campaign cash to figure out why?

DINK = money to pay for all the social services you need for your "working class". Look at what happened in the District...they exported the worst of the their problems to PG, brought in a bunch of high income low services burden taxpayers and now have a wonderful place to live.
You seem to advocate sleeping in a cesspit because that is keeping it "real" I'd like to move up the ladder a bit after 13 years here.

Felix-
Most of us would look instead to the drastic drop in crime, litter, and general scuzzyness, the exploding property values, the blooming of the local business and food scene, and convenient big box shopping. If the cost that the bottom end has to go somewhere else, Ill take it in a heartbeat. -

Anton, Im shocked, shocked to think that political favoritism might play a role in determining who gets a booth.....

Im with Anton--if you cant be nice and can only cuss at us, it shows a lack of respect to your neighbors.
We can differ, but threatening me is getting you no where....is this how you "assist" low income people find housing?
