Moira Ratchford's paintings distill the beauty of summer into splashes of color, from huge fruits and vegetables suspended in cobalt skies, to vibrant flowers drawn with sweeping lines. Each stroke and color carry an emotional charge, reflecting her vivid experience of life.
From flying goldfish to aerial cantaloupes, everything is in motion, suspended in air. Ms. Ratchford hopes to capture the fleeting moments of beauty in our lives. But like the passage of time, you can't pin her subjects down. And July is the perfect time to taste her artistic fruits of summer.
