Neither driver was injured, police said.

The two cars, a white Honda Accord and a white Nissan van, were traveling southbound on Veirs Mill Road when the driver of the Honda made what police called "an unsafe lane change" from the middle lane to the left lane.

The Honda struck the Nissan, which was traveling in the left lane, and the Nissan struck Fish in the median, the release said.

For a time, eastbound Veirs Mill Road was closed before Reedie Drive, and southbound Georgia Avenue was down to one lane at Prichard Road due to the police investigation. Both roads have since reopened.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call the county police department's Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620. Callers may remain anonymous.
