This Sunday, September 8, everyone who cares to experience Scottish roots music will have a unique opportunity. From 2 until 5 pm, Peter Walker and area Scottish musicians will have a "session" at the only real Scottish pub in a several state area. The Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton, Maryland will host this monthly musical event. Walker invites folk musicians to join in sharing of the rich musical heritage of the Scots. Fiddles, guitars, whistles, flutes, banjos, small pipes and even a cello blend together to produce an afternoon of lively, exciting and sometimes gentle songs of the Scottish people. After enjoying a wonderful late brunch, I noticed musicians pouring into the pub, then I discovered this musical delight by accident. that was two years ago and I keep coming back every month. Few people know about the Royal Mile Pub...some say it's Wheaton's best kept secret in fine dining and entertainment; so I just tell your friends to GPS "Royal Mile" and sit back to watch their faces fill up with delight. It is really a very unique pub experience. Bring your traditional stringed instruments and join in the fun!
