Heat Advisory: Wednesday Will Feel Like 100 Degrees

The heat advisory is in effect from 12 p.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Thursday in Montgomery County.

Update, 10 a.m., June 20:

The National Weather Service has extended the heat advisory from noon on Wednesday until 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Temperatures for Thursday are expected to range into the upper 90s and even reach 100.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Wednesday from 12-8 p.m. in Montgomery County, as well as the surrounding Washington, DC, and Baltimore areas.

Temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-to-high 90s, but high humidity will make it feel like a sweltering 100 degrees.

The Wings of Fancy Live Butterfly Exhibit at will close at 12:00 p.m. because of the heat advisory. Tickets will be sold only until 11 a.m. For updates, call 301-962-1400.

Recommended ways to combat extreme heat include drinking lots of fluids, staying in the shade or indoors in air conditioning, and taking frequent breaks from strenuous work.
