How to Participate in the World of Montgomery Festival

Volunteer can help in the International Village or march in the Parade of Nations at the Oct. 21 festival in Wheaton.

Would you like to volunteer at the World of Montgomery Festival on Oct. 21?

Festival organizers are looking for "individuals and organizations representing countries from around the world" to march in a parade wearing traditional dress and carrying flags or banners.

The parade will take place at the end of the festival in downtown Wheaton, at 4:30 p.m. Groups must pre-register on the World of Montgomery Festival website.

Festival organizers are also looking for volunteers in the International Village, whose four main tents showcase the cultures of El Salvador, China, India and Ethiopia. Volunteers can earn SSL hours by assisting in crafts and activities, or acting as country ambassadors. See the World of Montgomery Festival website for open volunteer slots.
