In Brief: Pepco Reliability Worksession at the Council

Menare Foundation holds benefit concert.

  • The Montgomery County Council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee will be holding a worksession update on the reliability of Pepco at 2 p.m. today. They’ll also discuss public power as an alternative.  The T&E committee is chaired by Roger Berliner and includes at-large council members Nancy Floreen and Hans Riemer. The meeting will be on County Cable Montgomery (Channel 6 on Comcast, RCN, Channel 30 on Verizon) and through the county website.
  • The Menare Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Underground Railroad, will be holding a benefit concert on Sunday, Feb. 13rd at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in downtown Silver Spring.  One of the performers is Noel Paul Stookey, from Peter, Paul and Mary.
