Maryland business owners, you ready to move to Texas? Lone Star State Gov. Rick Perry (R) promises that you'll pay lower taxes than in Maryland, as long as you can stand the heat.

The Washington Post reports that Perry tries to lure businesses in the DC suburbs through an ad that also takes shots at Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D). The two have both said that they are considering presidential campaigns in 2016. Perry was a contender in the 2012 Republican primary, but the party's nomination ultimately went to Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

“When you grow tired of Maryland taxes squeezing every dime out of your business, think Texas, where we’ve created more jobs than all the other states combined,” Perry says in the ad, The Post reported.

"Unfortunately, your governor has made Maryland the tax-and-fee state, where businesses and families are paying some of the highest taxes in America."

O'Malley told The Post that he hadn't heard the ads, but that he knew Perry had ran similar ads in other states.

Hilarious, Texas. "Don't like paying your employees well? Come on down to the minimum wage capital of the western world - Texas! Don't want to provide your employees health insurance? Don't worry, you'll fit right in around here! Texas - the China of America. Except with Mexicans."

Texas, no...but we are contemplating a move to Virginia within the next few years. Our tax burden would drop 20%, our regulatory overhead will decrease by 50% and as a "right to work" state with far lower workers comp premiums a Virginia move would save us significantly in our labor overhead as well. The way Maryland is run, they want to actively drive out business and business owners.
