What You Need to Know About Metro This Weekend: Feb. 25

Red line single tracking, weeknight delays on northern Green and Yellow lines.

While there are no major closures this weekend on Metro, track work and single tracking are still going to be a part of your life. Check out all the details below:

  • The now almost normal single tracking between New York Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue on the Red Line will continue Friday from 10 p.m. to Sunday close. This track is also part of the late weeknight single-tracking schedule, from 10 p.m. to close on Monday.
  • A similar weekend schedule for single tracking between Shady Grove and Twinbrook on the other side of the Red Line.
  • Monday's night single tracking will, however, be between Grosevnor and Twinbrook.
  • Track replacements are the reason for single tracking this weekend between Georgia Avenue and Fort Totten on the Green and Yellow lines. Add 30 minutes to your schedule if you are taking either of those lines.
  • Single tracking for that area will also be in effect after 10 p.m. on Monday.
